The Dark Knight Filming Update

ScreenEast.co.uk reports that Warner Bros. Pictures has set up The Dark Knight for filming at Leavesden Studios and that filming is also taking place at Herts & Beds.

The Chris Nolan-directed sequel, starring Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart and Maggie Gyllenhaal, is expected to do a lot of filming in Chicago as well.

It opens in theaters on July 18, 2008.

Reel Chicago reports that The Dark Knight production is rolling into town this month:

"Batman" or whatever its secret title is supposed to be, starts this month and shoots through September.
